Teachers Deported From China

According to the CRI news agency, two TEFL teachers have been deported from China after they were found to be working illegally in Shanxi province.

Police arrested the two – a 59 year old American woman and a 25 year old Pakistani man – after raiding an English school which was not certified to employ foreigners and later deported them, banning their return to China.

Editorial:

This is happening more and more these days. Chinese authorities are beginning to crack down on illegal teachers in China of which there are many.

We need to say this again: if you are thinking of working in China then make sure you use a LEGITIMATE agency to find you work there and make sure you are properly qualified. Sooner or later it will catch up with you and you could face deportation and a fine or – worse still – imprisonment.
